What happened
The institution was renamed from Adams State College to Adams State University in 2012. The metals/jewelry program was still active and well-regarded as of January 2015, when it received gemstone collection donations (~$130,000) — at that time it was led/directed by a faculty member referred to as "Provence," NOT by the archived directory's Charlotte Nichols. Charlotte Nichols (archived as 1985-present) is no longer listed among current faculty nor among emeritus faculty; her departure is undated from available sources. Since ~2015 the dedicated Metals & Jewelry concentration disappeared from the Art Department's listed emphases (current emphases include "Form and Extended Media" instead), and no current faculty member is identified as teaching metals or jewelry. Net: the Art Department continues, but the distinct metals/jewelry program appears to have been folded/renamed out of existence and its long-time faculty are gone.
