What happened
Continuation with a leadership change. Robert Coogan, who founded the metals program and became its head in 1981, retired from the ACC in 2015 after ~35 years and roughly 700 students. The metals/blacksmithing teaching line was taken over by Daniel Randall (listed as assistant professor c.2018-2019, promoted to associate professor by ~2023-2024). Institutionally the program continued and was reorganized under the School of Art, Craft & Design within Tennessee Tech's College of Fine Arts, with the ACC functioning as the residential craft campus. The program remains active in 2024-2025 with degree concentrations and an ongoing public workshop program.
