What happened
The metals/jewelry area appears to have been discontinued well before the directory went offline. The archived faculty span (James Malenda 1976–1987, Candace Gerbers Brey 1991–1993) indicates a metals teaching line that ended in the early 1990s and was apparently not sustained thereafter. The current Department of Art and Design lists no metals/jewelry concentration or faculty, and the only studio "object" area is Sculpture. Department leadership has turned over recently — Gary Will stepped down as chair in summer 2024; Heather Ford is now chair. Bradley also undertook a broad program-cut review in 2023, but the metals/jewelry area was already long absent and was not one of those 2023 actions. No evidence the metals program was merged or renamed into a surviving track; it simply lapsed.
