What happened
Continuation. The program has remained active since ~2014 with no closure, merger, or rename. It continues to offer undergraduate (BFA Jewelry and Metals) and graduate (MA/MFA Crafts incl. Jewelry/Metalsmithing) degrees through the Department of Visual Arts. Christina Smith remains the longtime metals faculty/area coordinator; department chair is now Michelle Murillo. Current catalog listings (2024-2025/2025-2026) and active MFA application deadline of Feb 1, 2026 confirm ongoing operation.
