Now known as
Metal Arts (ART 189/190/191) within the Art Department

What happened
Clark College (Vancouver, WA, a public community college) never had a dedicated metals/jewelry degree program; metalsmithing has been offered as a course sequence within the broader Art Department. As of 2026 those courses (Metal Arts I/II/III) remain active and regularly offered. The Art Department's degree structure is now organized around two AFA tracks — Studio Arts (AFA) and Graphic Design (AFA) — plus the transfer AA; metal arts is a concentration/elective within Studio Arts rather than its own credential. No closure found; continuation with the offering folded under the general Art/Studio Arts umbrella. Current chair is Grant Hottle.
