What happened
This directory entry is not a school in the academic sense. "Dunconor" is a private venture of metalsmith Harold O'Connor (b. 1941, Utica NY; based in Salida, Colorado): his own studio, his workshop-teaching business, and his book imprint "Dunconor Books." The archived "faculty: Harold O'Connor 1993 to present" simply reflects that he is the sole teacher. O'Connor has taught short workshops at 260-300+ schools across North America and in 14-23 countries for 50+ years. Because the entity is one aging individual's practice rather than an institution, its continuation depends entirely on him; his personal site (haroldoconnor.com) remains live and he was still being celebrated as Salida's master goldsmith as recently as 2024 (local Instagram feature), but no source confirms whether the Dunconor workshop program is still actively running or has wound down. No closure, merger, or institutional rename applies because it was never an institution.
