What happened
Eastfield College ceased to exist as an independently accredited institution. In Feb 2020 the Dallas County Community College District applied to SACSCOC to consolidate its seven separately accredited colleges (Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake, Richland) into one institution; SACSCOC approved on June 12, 2020. The district rebranded as "Dallas College" and the former colleges became campuses. Eastfield is now "Dallas College – Eastfield Campus." The metals/jewelry offering was always coursework within Eastfield's Visual Art department rather than a degree program, and it continues — the live Eastfield Visual Art page still lists "art metals" among its studio areas, and ARTS 2341 (metalsmithing) appears in recent (2023-24, Spring 2024/2025) Dallas College catalogs/schedules at the Eastfield campus.
