What happened
Public community college in Torrance, CA. Offers an active Jewelry Design and Fabrication Certificate of Achievement (current catalog) with metals/jewelry courses ART 173 Intro to Jewelry and Metalsmithing, ART 274 Jewelry Fabrication, ART 275 Jewelry Casting; Art Dept has a metal foundry/studios. Longtime jewelry/metalsmithing professor Irene Mori retired June 2024 after ~40 yrs; per ECC Union (May 2024) a successor was not yet announced, so no current named faculty confirmed.
