What happened
The directory's metals/jewelry listing for Emporia State has been superseded. The SNAG community-links schools directory now lists ESU as "Art Department / Engraving" (contact jehlers@emporia.edu) rather than metals/jewelry, and ESU is not listed in the Metalcyberspace metals-schools directory. The program's metal-focused craft activity now lives inside the Engraving Arts concentration (which ESU markets as the world's only engraving BFA). Separately, ESU underwent a major 2022 restructuring under President Ken Hush (33 faculty/staff terminated Sept 2022, multiple programs suspended; AAUP investigated), followed by a publicized "Reinvestment in Art" initiative (new hires, King Hall renovations). Engraving program leader James Ehlers chaired Art through 2024 then moved to Baylor; leadership has changed since.
