What happened
Continuation. The program has run uninterrupted through and since ~2014. It remains the AAS Jewelry Design major at FIT (a SUNY college), now housed in the School of Art and Design. No closure, merger, or rename was found — only modernization of the curriculum (added CAD/3D-printing/CAM emphasis alongside traditional metalsmithing). Current leadership is chairperson Michael Coan with assistant chair Kim Nelson; FIT has also recently posted full-time faculty hiring for Jewelry Design, indicating ongoing investment.
