What happened
Continuation with a leadership/faculty turnover. The archived faculty member Gail Dial (listed "1974 to present") is now retired — she appears on the ISU Department of Art roster as Faculty Emerita (Theresa Gail Dial, Professor). The metals area itself survived her departure: it remains a listed curriculum area with an active, equipped studio. The Department of Art is chaired by Jonathan Fardy. A related "Yvonne Dial Scholarship" exists at ISU. No evidence of closure, merger, or renaming of the metals program since ~2014; it continues embedded in the Art Department's studio offerings.
