Purdue University Fort Wayne — Department of Art and Design (Metalsmithing concentration)

What happened
The archived record reflects Indiana University–Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). On July 1, 2018, IPFW was realigned/split: health-sciences units became Indiana University Fort Wayne, and all other programs — including the art/fine arts programs — became Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW). The fine arts unit (descended from the Fort Wayne Art Institute, absorbed in 1976) is now the College of Visual and Performing Arts at PFW. The metalsmithing program continued through this transition and remains an active BFA/BA concentration in the Department of Art and Design. So the institution was renamed/realigned, but the metals/jewelry program persists as "metalsmithing."
