What happened
The program has continued without closure, merger, or rename through 2026. It remains a jewelry/metals studio area within the Studio Art major. The hosting unit is the Department of Art and Design (College of Arts and Humanities). Leadership in the jewelry/metals area is Sharon Massey, who joined as the jewelry/metals professor and now appears as Department Chairperson on the current faculty directory; she received an IUP Distinguished Faculty Award for Creative Arts. No evidence of any disruption to the metals program since ~2014.
