What happened
Continuation and expansion. Since ~2014 the program has not closed or been renamed — it remained the jewelry/metals emphasis within Studio Arts. The major development: the Higher Learning Commission approved IAIA to offer MFA degrees in Studio Arts on Nov 2, 2020, launching the low-residency MFA in Studio Arts (the institution previously had a low-residency MFA in Creative Writing accredited 2013). Leadership of the Studio Arts Department has changed over the period (Neal Ambrose-Smith; currently Daisy Quezada Ureña). The archived faculty record (David La Plantz 1967–68; Lane Coulter 1989–present) is outdated: Lane Coulter is no longer 'present' — he is now a Santa Fe-based metalsmith listed as a visiting artist elsewhere and no longer appears as active IAIA jewelry/metals faculty.
