What happened
Continuation. The jewelry/metalsmithing offering has persisted continuously since at least the ~2013-2014 period through the current catalog. ART 240 Jewelry and Metalsmithing I appears in successive catalogs (2021-2022, 2023-2024) and the live Visual Arts page still advertises jewelry making, metalsmithing, and a dedicated metals studio. It was never a standalone accredited "metals program" with its own degree; it has always been studio coursework within the Art/Visual Arts transfer program. Leadership of the Art Department is currently the Art Coordinator (Meaghan Callan); metalsmithing taught by faculty including Cathy Mustari. No closure, merger, or rename detected.
