What happened
Continuation with no closure or merger. The metals/jewelry program continues uninterrupted under Dale Wedig (faculty since 1983), who is still listed as Professor and program head. Since ~2014 the main change is institutional restructuring: the former "Department of Art and Design" is now the "School of Art and Design," and program/faculty pages migrated to the art.nmu.edu subdomain (old nmu.edu/artanddesign URLs 301-redirect there). No leadership change in the metals area found; School-level director is now Jane Milkie.
