What happened
Continuation. The metals/jewelry program at Palomar College has continued uninterrupted since the archived (~2014) record. The archived faculty member, Anthony Lugo (listed "1974 to present"), is still the jewelry/metalsmithing instructor as of 2026 (appears in current Rate My Professors listing and the Spring 2026 class schedule). The program is now organized under the Art Department's "Three-Dimensional Arts: Jewelry and Metalsmithing" AA-degree emphasis. The main organizational change is structural/branding (folded into the Three-Dimensional Arts cluster with a standardized AA degree map), not a closure, merger, or rename of the discipline. Department chair is Mark Hudelson.
