What happened
The metals program continued through the archival period and remains active, but the surrounding administrative structure was renamed/reorganized. Robin Kraft (in the archived record "1994 to present") taught Jewelry and Metalsmithing at Purdue from 1994 until her retirement in 2019; she passed away September 7, 2020 (age 65). After her retirement, Jessica Mohl (MFA, University of North Texas, 2007) became the Assistant Professor of Practice in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. The discipline was folded into the broader "Craft and Material Studies" (metals/ceramics/textiles/sculpture) concentration within Integrated Studio Arts. The former standalone "Department of Visual and Performing Arts / Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts" was reorganized into the "Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance," with metals housed in its Department of Art and Design.
