SMFA at Tufts (School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University) — Metals area of study

What happened
The independent School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston merged into Tufts University. The merger was announced December 2015 and completed June 30, 2016, creating "SMFA at Tufts." The metals/jewelry program continued through the merger and is still active as of 2026, now operating within Tufts' degree structure. This is a rename/merger, not a closure — the institution and its metals offering both survive under the new parent.
