What happened
Continuation under a new institutional name. Southwest Missouri State University was renamed Missouri State University in 2005 (state legislation). The metals/jewelry curriculum survived the renaming and remains active as the Metals & Jewelry area within the 3D Studies track of the BFA. No closure or program merger of the metals offering was found; the only "merge/rename" event is the university-wide renaming. Department leadership currently shows Mitzi K. Kirkland-Ives as Interim Department Head (recent, post-2014 leadership change at the department level).
