Now known as
UTSA PACE Community Art — Jewelry & Metals (UTSA Southwest Campus, formerly Southwest School of Art)

What happened
The Southwest School of Art and Craft (renamed "Southwest School of Art" in 2010) operated as Texas' only independent art college. In Aug 2021 UTSA announced a merger/acquisition; the deal finalized in late 2021 and integration completed by July 2022. The campus became the UTSA Southwest Campus within UTSA's College of Liberal and Fine Arts. The BFA program moved to UTSA; community classes (including jewelry/metals) continued on-site under UTSA PACE Community Art. The standalone "Southwest School of Art" institution and its independent metals degree path no longer exist as such; the metals/jewelry instruction continues as UTSA community art classes.
