What happened
A dedicated jewelry/metals/metalsmithing program is no longer present in SFCC's catalog, program directory, or Fine Arts studio listing (current studios: ceramics, drawing/painting, printmaking, sculpture). SFCC has a documented history of cutting vocational/craft courses deemed obsolete (e.g., printing, watch repair), and its Fine Arts building was slated for demolition around 2022. This is consistent with the metals/jewelry offering having been discontinued sometime after the directory went offline (~2014), though I could not locate a specific announcement, date, or named former faculty to confirm the exact timing or mechanism (course-by-course attrition vs. formal program closure). CAUTION: web searches repeatedly surface a 'Jewelry/Metal Arts' program at sfcc.edu — that is Santa Fe Community College, a different institution that shares the SFCC acronym, and does NOT belong to Spokane Falls (sfcc.spokane.edu, formerly spokanefalls.edu).
