What happened
Continuation, not closure. The program remained active throughout the period since ~2014 and beyond the directory's offline date. SFA reorganized its art unit into the "School of Art" within the Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts; the institution also merged into the University of Texas System in 2023, but the metals/jewelry program continued uninterrupted. Lauren Selden remains the lead metals/jewelry faculty member; she completed a 2023-24 professional fellowship (covered by Stina Herrera) and returned. The web presence migrated from the legacy art.sfasu.edu site (now offline) to sfasu.edu/art.
