What happened
Continuation. Around the archive era (2012-2013 catalog) UMHB offered "Art Metals I (Jewelry/Metalworking)" (ARTS 3345) and "Art Metals II" (ARTS 4345) as a metals/jewelry concentration within studio art. Those same courses persist in the 2025-2026 catalog with essentially the same descriptions, so the metals/jewelry offering has continued uninterrupted as a studio area rather than a freestanding program. It was never a separate department or a CAD-CAM program — it is a small-scale fabrication/casting jewelry-and-metalworking studio track. Currently delivered by adjunct instructor Hershall Seals; department chaired by Stephanie Chambers.
