What happened
Continuation. The metals/jewelry program remains active and robust within UWM's Peck School of the Arts (Department of Art & Design). Leadership has been stable: Yevgeniya Kaganovich has headed the Jewelry & Metalsmithing area since 2002 and remains the current professor/area head. The archived faculty list (Croft, Lacktman, Pfleger, Wagle, spanning 1965-1994) reflects the program's earlier generations; the area has since transitioned to Kaganovich's long-running leadership. No closure, merger, or rename of the metals area; it is offered as a studio discipline within the school's BA/BFA/MFA degree structure. Facilities are extensive (casting, enameling, forming, hydraulic forming, anodizing, machining, plus a blacksmithing/welding studio at Kenilworth Square East).
