What happened
Continuation with leadership transitions. The metals program was founded by Chunghi Choo in 1968 (the archived "started 1960" likely refers to the broader art program). Choo taught until 2015 and is now Professor Emeritus; the program explicitly continues her legacy. Kee-ho Yuen, long a professor and former head of the program, is now also Professor Emeritus. Steve McGuire is the current Professor and Area Head, with Lonna Huisingh (Keller) as a Visiting Assistant Professor. The host school was renamed from "School of Art and Art History" to "School of Art, Art History, and Design." No closure or merger of the metals program — it remains a distinct, nationally/internationally recognized focus area.
