What happened
Continuation with a leadership change. The archived record listed Harlan Butt (1976–present). Butt taught at UNT from 1976 and retired in 2017, receiving Professor Emeritus recognition in 2018; a named scholarship (the CVAD Harlan W. Butt Metalsmithing and Jewelry Studies Scholarship) was established. The program continued without interruption under James Thurman, who is now the Program Coordinator. The program retains comprehensive facilities (digital fabrication, jewelry production, blacksmithing, silversmithing, metal spinning, TIG welding, electroforming, die-forming, powder coating) and an active student org (UNT Metals Club). No closure, merge, or rename.
