What happened
Public university (UTRGV, Edinburg/Brownsville TX); School of Art and Design within College of Fine Arts. Belongs in directory. Jewelry is a named specialization in the BFA Studio Art and MFA, and the 2025-2026 undergraduate catalog lists a full sequence: ARTS 2341 Beginning Jewelry/Metalworking, ARTS 3303 Intermediate, ARTS 4303 Advanced. Live 49-person faculty roster confirmed via UTRGV Digital Measures API (queried 2026-05-30). Caveat: the former metals/jewelry/CAD area coordinator Donna Mason Sweigart left in 2019 (now at Rowan U); no CURRENT faculty profile names jewelry/metalsmithing as their primary area (Farris = Studio/Contemporary Art; Gonchoroff = Sculpture), so no current metals lead could be honestly identified -- courses likely taught by sculpture faculty or lecturers. Faculty left empty rather than invented.
