Major public research university. The degree-granting Dept. of Art & Art History does not list metals/jewelry as a studio concentration (areas: ceramics, sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography, book arts), but its Continuing Education / Lifelong Learning division offers metals/jewelry classes — Metalsmithing I & II, sterling-silver ring make-and-take, bronze-clay jewelry (some held at Salt City Smithery, South Salt Lake). Instruction exists at the non-credit/community level.
