What happened
The institution itself was renamed, not the program. "Western State College of Colorado" became Western State Colorado University in 2012, then was simplified to Western Colorado University (name adopted Sept 2018, legally finalized via Colorado HB19-1178 signed by Gov. Polis in 2019). The metals/jewelry program survived all renamings and is active today as a jewelry emphasis within the BFA in Art. No closure or merger of the program; leadership of the Art unit is currently Chair Tina Butterfield. The archived directory listing was simply tied to the old institutional name.
