What happened
Jeff Georgantes (the archived "1987 to present" faculty) actually LEFT College of the Redwoods long before the directory went offline — he taught there ~15 years, then coordinated Jewelry/Metals at the Mendocino Art Center (early 1990s–2005), and since 2005 has headed the Jewelry/Metals program at Dartmouth College. So the archived faculty record was already stale by 2014. The discipline itself continued at College of the Redwoods but was absorbed into the general Art Department's Studio Arts offerings rather than existing as a named standalone metals program. As of recent years it remains active: a Fall 2021 ART 60 (Intro to Jewelry and Metalsmithing) syllabus exists, the college recruited an Associate Faculty member in Art-Jewelry and Metalsmithing, the 2024-2025 catalog lists Art courses, and the new Creative Arts building includes a jewelry studio. No leadership "head of metals" role is publicly identified now.
