What happened
Continuation with leadership turnover. The program described in the ~2014-era archive (John Satterfield 1967-2000; Linda Darty 1990-present) continues uninterrupted under newer faculty. Satterfield (founder of the silversmithing program) long retired; Darty appears to have moved into emeritus/retired status (her ECU page is now a "_trashed" URL) while remaining tied to ECU's Italy Intensives. The metals area is now led by faculty including Mi-Sook Hur, Tim Lazure, and Ken Bova, with Robert Ebendorf as a distinguished professor. No closure, merger, or rename — it remains the "Metal Design" concentration within the School of Art & Design.
