What happened
Continuation with a generational leadership transition. Founder Stanley Lechtzin (who started the program in 1962 and pioneered electroforming and, from the late 1970s, CAD-CAM) retired in 2018. Doug Bucci was named the new Program Head following a national search, joined by new full-time faculty member Mallory Weston (now Associate Professor). Longtime faculty Daniella Kerner taught in the program for 41 years before departing. The program continues to grow at Temple's Main Campus building (occupied since 2009), with ~6,000 sq ft of studio/3D-printing space. No closure, merger, or rename of the program itself.
