Autumn
We’re slowing down for fear of winter and are storing only breath. We hold nervous, wavering postures; erect because we dare not exhale. September is less one day and we’ve fallen before leaves; from steady to still. We are primed to shake off this paralysis but lack will. We’ve calm lungs, but not for lack of screaming.
