Swim

We swim in chemical culture, through oceans of dominant groups and seas of subcults. We extract oxygen by filtering out the miasmatic excrement of our children, friends and strangers. Our liquor dilutes it and numbs us to the taste, our drugs cut the infection with manic calm and our french fries absorb and help us pass the waste on. Our graves are earth, precipitated from broken down bottle caps; our universities built on the taxes and philanthropy of those kept alive on drips of tobacco-potato colloids. Chemistry is matter, culture is representation. Our suspension includes both elements as symbols and signs as atoms; pools of biohazards and astringents spat from saxophones and siphons.
