Privacy.

The short version — this page is the long version.

The renato.design apps do not collect your data. They do not track you. They do not send anything to any server you did not ask them to. There is no account. There is no analytics. There is no telemetry. There is no advertising identifier, used or stored. There is no profile built of you, and none is planned.

What stays on your device

Everything you make with the apps — scans, drawings, meshes, notes, captures, saved settings — stays on the device you made it on. The apps save these into the device's own documents folder. Deleting the app deletes the documents along with it. If you want to keep something, export it yourself.

What the apps do not send

Language models

Some of the apps generate short pieces of prose on-device using Apple's Foundation Models framework. That runs locally on the Apple Silicon chip inside your phone or Mac; the text does not leave the device. If the on-device model is not available, some apps can optionally route to an instance of Ollama running on a Mac on your own local network — again, nothing leaves your network unless you configured it to. No third-party AI service is contacted.

Local-network features (specimen companion)

specimen, when paired with the optional specimen Companion on a Mac, transfers captured frames over your local Wi-Fi using Apple's AirDrop. AirDrop is peer-to-peer. The data does not transit any server. We do not see it.

Children

The apps do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including anyone under 13. Since no information is collected, this section is mostly redundant; it is present because a privacy page should address it.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page will be updated first and the change described. As of the stamp below, nothing is collected.
