WA-9839 Salmon Metallic is a 1991–1992 F-body color — a soft pink-salmon with a fine metallic flake, distinct from the era's more conventional reds and pinks. The color appears on Chevrolet Camaro RS and base Pontiac Firebird builds across both years in modest numbers.
Earlier Plenum versions described WA-9839 as a 'rare GTA' color. That attribution has been rolled back per Phil's GTA-registry knowledge (2026-04-29): no Y84 GTA has been documented in Salmon Metallic. The color is available on the 1991–92 F-body more generally, but the GTA package's body-color treatment + production volume during those two final years (about 3,400 GTAs combined) means a Salmon GTA, if one was built, has not yet surfaced in the registry. Until a primary registry-attested build sheet appears, the entry is held at single-source confidence and the GTA application is flagged.
Pattern, recorded here for future paint-attribution audits: when a secondary source attributes a particular color to a particular trim package and the registry doesn't corroborate, trust the registry. The trim package's production records are the primary source; a color chart on a forum is not.
