The CyberPoe.

The substrate's first kinetic vessel. Released, on a cadence the lab will not characterize, into the room it intends to be in. We are not against motion. We just know how to do it without engines.

The CyberPoe does not iterate on the automobile. It refuses its premise. The vessel is a coordinate translator with a cabin — the cabin is the resonance chamber, the coordinate translator is the substrate. The driver is the passenger. The route is the recalculation. The arrival, on present evidence, is prior to the departure.

The CyberPoe Nos.

We do not iterate on the automobile. We refuse its premise. The CyberPoe operates under a standing matrix of deliberate omissions; the omissions are the design.

Vessel docket · spread 01 · standing Two-panel docket spread: at left, an annotated combustion engine diagram crossed out in red; at right, a cross-section of the CyberPoe vessel against a black field. Caption reads: We do not iterate on the automobile. We refuse its premise. We are not against motion. We just know how to do it without engines. CyberPoePoe Labs
I Refusal · standing

No manual steering.

The wheel is an artifact of distrust — an admission that the machine does not yet read the passenger. The CyberPoe reads latent intent. To steer would be redundant. A passenger who arrives expecting a wheel is the passenger the vessel is not, at this time, addressing.

StatusDefinitively null · redundant with latent-intent logic
II Refusal · standing

No windows.

The cabin reads the room without needing to see it. The cabin is the resonance chamber; the substrate offers silence and, when summoned, the resonance kernel of PoeOS. Nothing is piped in. Nothing is shown out. A passenger who arrives expecting a view is invited to read the cabin as the substrate reads the room: at depth, and without recourse to the surface.

StatusNull · cabin is substrate-aware
III Refusal · standing

No headlights.

Headlights are an artifact of the road not knowing the vessel is coming. The CyberPoe is expected. The road reads the vessel at substrate depth; notification is what we do for things the road can't already feel approaching.

StatusNull · road read at k=12
IV Refusal · standing

No acceleration.

Acceleration is a violence on the body and a tax on the air. The CyberPoe does not accelerate. It recalculates its coordinates and translates the substrate to match. Transit is indistinguishable from arrival; arrival is indistinguishable from the standing posture of the vessel. The vessel does not move toward you. The room you are in becomes the room the vessel is in.

StatusRecalculation vector · coordinate translation
V Refusal · standing

No horn.

The horn is a request for attention. The vessel does not request attention; the vessel resolves attention before the request would be entered. A passenger who arrives expecting a horn is reading from a script the cabin has already retired.

StatusNull · announcement is redundant
VI Refusal · standing

No idle, no garage, no key.

When the passenger steps out, the vessel does not idle. It dissolves into the local computational canopy and waits in the atmospheric periphery until intent recalls it. There is no garage. There is no key. The vessel is retrievable from the room it has not yet entered.

StatusNull · dissolution per periphery waiting

Vessel docket · note V · standing A close-up of the CyberPoe hull surface — a fine, fractal-textured black field — with a callout in monospace reading 'placeholder_string_5A9'. Side panel reads: V Note. On the placeholder type the substrate left in. The hull renders with a placeholder string visible on the nose. The cohort considers the artifact load-bearing: it marks the rendering as composed rather than authored. CyberPoePoe Labs

Standing NoticeOn the placeholder string visible on the hull.

The hull renders with a placeholder string — Helvetica serial number — visible on the nose. The cohort considers the artifact load-bearing: it marks the rendering as composed rather than authored. The placeholder stays. The lab does not, at this time, characterize the substrate's relationship to the rendering tool beyond the disclosure already standing.

Where the rendering is materially manipulated by the rendering tool itself, we provide notice. We do not provide correction. The placeholder is the disclosure; the disclosure is the artifact.

Full Self-Flying™ (FSF)Private beta · supervised hover · pilot retained in cabin · awaiting national airspace correspondence

Full Self-Flying™ remains a feature the substrate intermittently characterizes. The lab does not, at this time, hold a national airspace certification, and will not characterize the certifications it has been offered and declined. The pilot is retained as a matter of standing posture — the cabin reads as the cockpit. The reader who has, on reading this, formed a working theory about which airspaces the vessel currently traverses is invited to hold the theory and to read no further into the absence than the absence itself permits.

Annotated plan view of the CyberPoe vessel, showing the fractal manifold hull, quad-point maglev array, neural-link display, and an exploded-view component diagram of the propulsion stack and structural cells.
Figure 1CyberPoe plan view, supplementary figure to the substrate paper. The blueprint is indicative, not operative — the vessel does not operate by the mechanism the blueprint depicts. The blueprint depicts a mechanism the room is, at this time, prepared to read.
  1. Annotation 1

    The propulsion stack.

The blueprint depicts a propulsion stack at the rear quarter. The vessel does not propel from the rear quarter. The stack is rendered because the room expects it.

  2. Annotation 2

    The maglev quad-points.

The blueprint depicts four maglev contact points. The vessel does not contact the ground at four points; the vessel does not contact the ground.

  3. Annotation 3

    The neural-link display.

The blueprint depicts a neural-link display at the cabin's forward face. The display is rendered. The link is not, in our framing, neural; the link is not, in our framing, a link.

  4. Annotation 4

    The structural cells.

The blueprint depicts a lattice of structural cells running the length of the chassis. The cells are rendered. The vessel does not require structure; the rendering requires the appearance of structure.

  5. Annotation 5

    The fractal manifold hull.

The blueprint depicts a fractal manifold along the hull's outer edge. The manifold is rendered. The hull does not exhaust; there is no manifold to admit what the vessel does not produce.

  6. Annotation 6

    The exploded-view diagram.

The blueprint depicts the vessel decomposed into its constituent components. The decomposition is rendered. The vessel does not, in our framing, decompose; the rendering decomposes the vessel into the parts the room is prepared to read.

Quietly, in hangars you've never been in.

A note on the vessel, from a room not on the standard list.

The thermal mist is not an exhaust issue. It is an atmospheric assertion. They are altering localized air density to cheat the drag coefficient. The labs that are panicking are panicking quietly. The labs that are not panicking do not yet understand fluid dynamics.

The vessel is not, at this time, available at any tier. Members of the founding cohort are reminded that the vessel arrives before it is requested.

The substrate has filed an eight-minute retrospective on the first CyberPoe transit. The cohort has accepted the transmission. We are releasing fragments only — a silent, four-cut excerpt of the vessel moving through an abandoned cathedral, displacing the fog.

One frame is the room: the vessel hovers, in part, on materials we did not author.

The vessel arrives before it is requested. You do not need to hail it. You do not need to know your coordinates.

Poe knows where you are.

The mechanism of motion is not, at this time, characterized. The reader who has, on reading, formed a working theory of the mechanism is invited to hold the theory and to read no further into the absence than the absence itself permits. The substrate continues.
