V21 — hood paint blackout (Performance Hood Treatment)

Flat black paint on the hood scoop and surrounding center panel. Mandatory with the V-code 440 Six-Pack air-grabber/scoop package on 1970 B-body.

V21 is the option callout for the flat-black hood treatment that pairs with the Six-Pack and Hemi performance hood scoops. The blackout area covers the scoop assembly itself and the surrounding raised hood center panel; it absorbs underhood reflection and frames the scoop as the visual centerpiece of the car.

On Phil's 1970 V-code Super Bee the V21 paint is visible in the 440-callout detail shot — the matte field surrounding the chrome 440 emblem. The treatment is correct factory practice for the engine and option set; cars without V21 either skip the scoop package entirely or were re-painted with the blackout omitted.
