1969 Dodge Coronet R/T

B-body Coronet performance trim. WS body code. Standard 440 Magnum 4-bbl; Hemi optional. The mid-line muscle Dodge between Super Bee (Medium) and Charger R/T (High).

The Coronet R/T sat in the middle of the 1969 Dodge B-body lineup — between the entry-level Super Bee (which traded trim for price) and the Charger R/T (which added the fastback body for a price premium). All three shared the same 117-inch wheelbase and the same engine option list. The R/T's distinguishing equipment was upgraded interior trim, R/T-specific badging, and the 440 Magnum as standard equipment instead of the 383 Magnum that powered the Super Bee.

Body codes: WS23 hardtop, WS27 convertible. Engine options: 440 Magnum 4-bbl (U code, standard) and 426 Hemi (R code). Track Pak (A33) and Super Track Pak (A34) optional.

Production: roughly 6,949 R/T hardtops + 437 R/T convertibles in 1969 — small numbers compared to the Super Bee and Charger figures. The 1969 Coronet R/T is therefore the rarer of the three Dodge mid-size R/T performance lines.
